Marie Hartwell-Walker, Ed.D.
Marie Hartwell-Walker, Ed.D. is licensed in Massachusetts as a psychologist and as a marriage and family therapist. She has been working as a psychotherapist and educator for nearly 30 years. A prolific writer, she has authored advice columns and a website for parents, articles and books on classroom discipline for teachers, and programs for schools and industry that focus on helping people be more responsible for themselves and get along better with others. She has presented workshops for parents, teachers, and mental health professionals throughout the United States and Canada. Currently, she is the Clinical Director of the Adult Outpatient Services Program of a Community Mental Health Center in Western Massachusetts. Dr. Hartwell-Walker holds a master's degree in counseling psychology from the Alfred Adler Institute in Chicago and a master's degree and a doctoral degree in psychological education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Her formal education has been greatly enhanced by a 32-year marriage, four children, and active involvement in her community.
